Has anybody ever told you that cleaning up your workspace will make you more productive? Have you ever heard that you can live a more fulfilled life if you remove the clutter? Do you think there’s any truth to those that say that being the best at one thing is better than being average at everything?
I believe that if you are laser focused in your network marketing training and application of what you learn, you will make more money. But not just a little bit more money, a lot more money. Don’t try to learn everything, just master one skill at a time. This will prove to be the difference between your continuous miserable failures in every business you join and succeeding in a big way with your next endeavor.
So how do you choose what to learn first or what’s most important to focus on?
First you should identify what skills you are missing, what you feel you need most to build your network marketing business, and what network marketing training is most readily accessible to you right now.
As you discover your needed skills keep in mind the major things you will need to accomplish are: building a contact list, inviting to a presentation, showing your business, following up and sponsoring, and training your new members. These 5 things are the big picture of what you will need to do to have success in your business.
So spend some time writing down what you feel you are already good at that apply to the 5 things that we just listed above. Are you good at meeting new people? Are you good at talking to people? Are you good at convincing others of your point of view?
Next spend some time writing down what you feel you’re missing that apply to the 5 things you will need to be doing. Are you scared of talking to people? Do you know what to say to people to invite them to a presentation? Do you have a training program that you can plug them into after you sponsor them? The list of things you are missing or that you feel you need might grow very large, but don’t worry, you’re not going to need to gain all of these skills your first week.
Network marketing training is about a personal evolution. Growing your skills over time is the key to becoming a master network marketer.
If you’re not sure where to start, I would recommend that you start learning the best ways to build your contact list. Most network marketing opportunities and support teams have the most support in inviting, presenting the opportunity, following up and sponsoring into the opportunity, and training your new members, but most tend to fall down completely on teaching lead generation. So if you’re going to focus on one thing to start with, I would focus 100% of my time on learning how to successfully generate a steady flow of prospects for your business.
Remember, you don’t need to become an expert at every way to generate prospects in building your contact list. Laser focus will get you to success faster than learning everything a little bit. Select one method of lead generation and become an absolute expert at everything there is to know and do with generating leads with that method. Then once you’ve mastered the one, you can increase your lead generation by becoming an absolute expert at another way of generating leads. Before you know it, you’ll be a lead generation expert.
